The Optilab BCB-5 is a compact bias control board designed to maintain the linear operating point of optical intensity modulators. Featuring a compact miniature design for OEM integration, the BCB-5 allows for a stable bias operation at Q+, Q-, Min and Max mode. It also supports Manual bias mode with DC bias voltage, or DC bias voltage with an overlayed dither signal. Compared to the previous generation BCB-4, BCB-5 allows dither amplitude adjustment through remote setting and integrates a dedicated heat sink to ensure stable performance. With a single +5 V DC power and RS485 multi-addressing control and monitor interface, the BCB-5 unit is the ideal choice for industrial and OEM applications when paired with any of Optilab’s wide variety of optical modulators.
